On December 16th, 2020 the European Commission released the Erasmus Annual Report 2020, available online for consultation.

The Erasmus Plus Programme

Erasmus Plus is the EU Programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. The 2021-2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and on promoting young people’s participation in democratic life.

It supports priorities and activities set out in the European Education Area, the Digital Education Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda. The Programme also

  • supports the European Pillar of Social Rights;
  • implements the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027;
  • develops the European dimension in sport.

Erasmus+ offers mobility and cooperation opportunities in

  • higher education;
  • vocational education and training;
  • school education (including early childhood education and care);
  • adult education;
  • youth;
  • and sport.

Erasmus Annual Report 2020

In 2020, the budget was €3.78 billion – €506 million more than 2019, with a 15% increase.

With this budget, in 2020 the Erasmus+ Programme supported almost 640,000 learning experiences abroad and provided funding to around 20,400 projects and 126,900 organisations.
