for youth workIf you are a youth worker and you already have experience with international mobility, but want to develop your competences further on, there is a training course taking place in Königswinter, Germany.

The training course, “YOCOMO – an ETS learning experience for youth workers: a systemic approach to competence development”, runs from 18th to 22nd October 2021. It aims at developing experience, while working with the ETS competence model for youth workers.

The training course tries to answer the following questions: “What are the systemic skills needed for youth workers? What is the value of looking at competence development from that perspective?“.

About the Training Course for Youth Work

This course will invite participants to look at the role of the whole system of interconnected players in their field (for example their organisation, young people, parents, schools, local community, etc.) on the development of their competences as youth workers.

What makes this training course stand out is the systemic approach to competence development in youth work. It represents also a great opportunity to meet other colleagues and share, exchange, support and evolve.

YOCOMO 3 intends to create a space for youth workers to reflect and exchange on their practice using the ETS competence model for youth workers.

As a participant, you will go through:

  • The ETS competence model for youth workers – its content, origins and intentions.
  • How to zoom out and see your youth work context as a living system?
  • Which is your role and function in your youth work system?
  • What does it mean to approach the competence development from a systemic point of view?
  • Which is the potential of the ETS competence model in your youth work context?
