Peace Camps Online Dialogue Activities Training

A new online training is available on S.A.L.T.O. Youth. Asfar CIC is an NGO with the aim of provide development opportunities for young people, women and their wider communities over Europe, the Middle East & North Africa, the Caucasus, and the Balkans. Their activities focus on reconciliation for development, professional development, sport for peace, volunteering, a youth-led e-Journal, educational and skills development programmes, cultural learning, and Youth Exchanges.

Online Training

Among their activities, Asfar CIC has launched the online training “RESOLVE: Peace Camps” that will take place from March 29th to April 8th 2021. The “RESOLVE: Peace Camps” online training is a skills development & dialogue activity where young community change-makers and local peace-builders address the societies’ social intolerance throughout Europe.

It is for youth leaders a useful way to learn and put into practice their ability to represent themselves toward decision-makers, develop their conflict resolution skills, and ensuring young people are leading community unification as social action leaders and change-makers, with the reality of a new era.

Goals of the Online Training

The objectives the online training aim to reach are:

Promote youth leaders’ views on key socio-economic-political issues in our world today;
Youth leaders understand the role of their countries’ and the EU’s democratic processes;
Youth leaders learn about Social Action, Civic Responsibility & Citizenship;
Learn to support youth-led social action through the supported organisation of events;
Inter-Youth and decision-makers debate for peace seminars and activities;
Youth leaders engage with decision-makers to address social intolerance and community xenophobia;
To analyse Social Action, civic responsibility and citizenship promotion in the work with youth;
To receive inputs from youth worker on encouraging youth participation in the RESOLVE: Network – specifically in its governance, chairing of meetings and leading a peace network;
Wider skills include: Leadership; Team Building; Communication; Social Awareness; as well as several wider EU Key Competencies.

The Schedule

The online training will take place from March 29th to April 8th 2021, for two weeks seeing 3 different meetings. Each meeting will last approximately 3 hours.

Week II – 6th to 8th April	2pm (UK time)	Engaging with local communities and tackling social problems young people face RESOLVE Network Meeting with former ‘Resolvers’ coming from 13 different countries

Requirements

Each participants has to attend all the meeting as during each sessions there will be workshops. It is necessary also to have a working camera and microphone.

The target group for this online training are young youth leaders, youth workers, team leaders etc, but will be open for everyone as it is an online event, everyone who is affected by conflict, or frustrated by decision-makers and interested in becoming a future leader. In particular, we welcome participants from more diverse backgrounds to participate.

The course is open to participants from the UK, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Turkey, Spain, Hungary and Cyprus, but applications from other Erasmus+ Programme and Partner countries are also taken into consideration.

The course officiale language is English.

Online Event: Partnership-Building Activity

We have recently gone around the importance of building partnership for youth organisations. Indeed, most of EU funded projects implies the collaboration among organisations from different EU-countries or EU-partner countries. In the previous occasion we mentioned OTLAS as a tool, available on S.A.L.T.O. Youth, for youth organisations to easily find partners for their projects, or look up at other’s projects to join in as a partner.

Given the new Erasmus+ & European Solidarity Corps program for 2021-2027, which will offer Youth mobility, Volunteering, Traineeships, Jobs, Local Solidarity Projects, youth organisations are starting preparing their projects and searching for partners, on the perspective of the future deadlines (we have talked about rumours on the first potential Erasmus+ deadline here).

The power of international networking has shown itself especially during the time of the pandemic. According to that, ProActive Group Georgia has launched an interactive networking online event to serve the partnership-building activity. The addressees of such event are NGOs, ESC Coordinators, Mentors, youth workers dealing with ESC and youth volunteering activities.

The Online Event

The Online event welcomes all the partners from programme countries, that have the Quality Label for hosting and /or sending volunteers, to join in.

The purpose of the online event is either:

get to know each other and find like-minded partner organisations;
receive hands-on advice to improve ESC projects and activities, volunteer recruitment and mentorship.

The online event will take place on March 2nd 2021 on the Zoom platform, and hosted by ProActive Group Georgia. To register and participate is necessary to fill in this questionnaire. The registration process can then be finalised on S.A.L.T.O. website at this page. The application deadline is February 25th 2021. The working language will be English.

MOVE IT – Youth mobility in the digital era – take part in the online event!

Shape the future of digital youth work!

Digital and smart youth work, in general, have been widely debated and conceptualized over the last years, long before COVID-19 catapulted the topic into the spotlight. The online event – MOVE IT – Youth mobility in the digital era – will focus specifically on European and international youth mobility which, so far, has not been at the center of the debates. It will further focus on digitalization processes within and surrounding European youth mobility activities such as Erasmus+ Youth In Action or European Solidarity Corps projects.

The following issues will be discussed at the meeting:

How are digital tools used to support international youth mobility?
Do digital and technological solutions hold the potential to further develop youth mobility, inclusion, and participation?
How do shakers and makers deal with “digital“ and where do they see hindrances and opportunities?
And much more!
