Call For 3 Facilitators – Digital and Content Trainers

For the 2nd edition of the ETS Conference – The Quality Bonus, SALTO Training and Cooperation and JUGEND für Europa have opened a call for 3 Facilitators: one digital facilitator and two content facilitators with one of them having an additional project coordinating role.

The application deadline is August 25th, 2021.

The Quality Bonus Conference

The Quality Bonus conference wants to boost and support stakeholders of education and training of youth workers, and to contribute to the development of quality youth work in Europe and beyond. The conference will focus on systems and new opportunities for youth workers education and training by exploring topics related to the European Training Strategy (ETS), taking into account other strategic developments connected to it.

The conference will see inputs, debates, peer-learning moments, workshops and meetings in national and/or thematic groups.

It will take place on 1-3 March 2022 in Berlin, with 120 participants.

Call for Facilitators

The facilitators and trainers should have the following characteristics:

Considerable experience with and understanding of the field of European/International youth work and, in particular, education and training of youth workers;
Experience in facilitating large-scale and international events;
Experience in working with a diversity of stakeholders, especially at the European level and including trainers, youth workers, educators, National Agencies;
Good knowledge of the European Training Strategy;
For the digital facilitator: experience with digital tools that can be used to support the dynamic and learning process in such an event;
One of the two facilitators is expected to take on a more coordinating role (similar to a project manager): experience with such role is necessary.
Able to work in English (the language of the event);
Knowledge of the Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps programmes (context and overall content);
Good understanding of youth policy developments is a plus.

Working Conditions and Terms

Each facilitator will receive a fee for a minimum of 9 days*320 Euro. Travel costs and accommodation will be covered.

The event foresees at least two (in principle face-to-face) preparatory meetings: one in October 2021 and the other one in January 2022, plus an earlier arrival before the event itself.

Online Course (MOOC) on Digital Youth Work

As the time goes by, it is clear the importance of digitalisation in the everyday life, as in the work field. Not for nothing, the European Union has included digitalisation in its core strategies, including it among the main focuses of 2021-2027 program. The pandemic has taught us that in order to move with the times, organisations and NGOs have to digitalise themselves too. One of the most successful ways experienced since the pandemic started is the online training. Online courses have spread widely, especially in the youth work.

On S.A.L.T.O. Youth, the Agency for International Youth Cooperation (Lithuania) has launched a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course). The course focuses on Digital Youth Work.

The Online Course

The e-learning event will take place on 1st-19th April 2021. Its objectives are:

Provide knowledge about digital youth work in Europe;
Support the development of digital youth work by providing good practice examples and practical tools;
Support sharing of good practices of digital youth work;
Connect organisations and people interested in digital youth work development.

It is a comprehensive course on essentials of digital youth work in Europe. The learning process goes through videos, practical tools, examples and discussions. It’s a free, open and flexible course for any kind of learner.

The target audience for this Online MOOC is youth workers and non-formal educators from Europe willing to learn about digital youth work, although it is open to anyone willing to participate.

Schedule

On the Canvas online learning platform, the participant can go through the following modules:

1st Module: General introduction to digital youth work
2nd Module: Digitalisation of society and impact on youth work
3rd Module: Planning and designing digital youth work
4th Module: Information and data literacy in youth work
5th Module: Online communication
6th Module: Digital creativity
7th Module: Safety online
8th Module: Reflection and evaluation for digital youth work development

Everyone completing the online course on Digital Youth Work will receive open digital badges for each module and a Youthpass certificate for completing at least one module of the course.

International Youth Work Trainers Guild (IYWTG) is an independent supportive community of trainers in the international youth work sector that advocates on behalf of and contributes to each other’s professional development.

IYWTG asked their members what they were doing since mid-March to create and facilitate online learning, training, and support opportunities for youth leaders, youth workers, and youth work organisations. In THIS article you read about the experiences, reflections, challenges, success, and questions that the members are experiencing during the pandemic. It is a collection of training practices in response to COVID-19 impact on international youth work mobility.
