SALTO has recently launched a survey to indagate the training needs of Youth Exchanges. The aim is to help the network of National Agencies to find out more about the needs of the youth field. Indeed the focus of the survey is on trainings, planning and implementing Youth Exchanges under Erasmus+.

Indeed, every year National Agencies host several training courses on Youth Exchanges, focusing on:

– quality criteria for a successful Youth Exchange
– management competences to increase the quality of future Youth Exchanges
– understanding the whole logic of the life cycle of a youth exchange project
– participation and learning opportunities of the young people
– how to pay extra attention to the equal partnership and encourage partners to plan, prepare, implement and report the project together.

Youth Exchanges
Youth Exchanges are a great opportunity for youngsters as they allow groups of people from different countries to meet, live together and work on shared projects for short periods. Furthermore the activities carried out are different and meaningful, such as:

  • workshops,
  • exercises,
  • debates,
  • role-plays,
  • outdoor activities.

Youth exchanges last between 5 and 21 days (excluding traveling time). They are open to people between the ages of 13 and 30. In addition it is also possible to apply as group leader if at least 18 years old. Youth organisations and informal groups of young people are the players that manage Youth Exchanges. Find more information about Youth Exchanges here.

Why a Survey
Due to COVID-19, National Agencies may only implement online training courses now and for an uncertain period of time. Therefore, National Agencies would like to know your needs and opinions.

The survey takes only 5-10 minutes of your time and the contribution of everyone is a great plus. Go straight to the survey here.
